Cublington has a vibrant and social village community, with many taking an active role in clubs and productions and supporting all manor of fundraising events.
It has a remarkable history, having moved once and nearly twice! In the 1970s it was the possible site of London’s Third airport. One runway would have ended just down the Aston Abbotts Road with the terminal centre marked by the Airport Monument on the way to Stewkley, which also would have been destroyed!
The Unicorn pub, Aylesbury Vale Pub of the Year 2013, Best Family Pub in 2014 and voted Consistently Excellent in 2015 A thriving village facility, the hub of the community has 2 AA Rosettes for the last six years and is one of the top destination restaurants in the area.
Orchard Ground, the village recreation ground, is an enviable facility boasting a magnificent pavilion, two thriving sports clubs and the Allotment society.
Cublington Cricket Club is an ECB centre of excellence in Buckinghamshire and regularly hosts county youth matches.
Cublington Tennis Club runs 8 teams in the Aylesbury & District Tennis League and punches well above its weight for clubs of similar size. Several of its teams play in the top divisions, competing against many bigger LTA performance clubs.
The Cublington Variety Club
Meets from 8pm every Thursday night from October onwards at the village hall in the run up to the new production. New talent wanted… front stage, back stage, any involvement greatly appreciated. You never know you might find a new talent! Come along and find out!
